Move Programme

Client Overview

MOVE Europe is a charity which works with parents, teachers, therapists and care teams across the UK and Europe to help give children and adults more opportunities and possibilities for independent movement through the MOVE Programme. In turn this can help to develop their cognitive and communication skills, and it can also improve health and social inclusion.

Requirements

The Move application aims to enable and encourage severely disabled children, under the age of 16 to improve their movements and lead them towards a more independent life.

The Move charity required a central repository for information relating to the children's progress as well as tools to monitor their movement during the programme. A digital version of the 10 year old paper-based system was required. This would help extend its reach as well as provide multiple benefits from a data storage point of view.

Issues

The Move process was previously paper-based, which resulted in some drawbacks, notably a lack of a central database for all information. The Move Europe charity had been running this highly successful program for almost 10 years, however they felt it needed a digital version to cater to a wider audience and to improve the ability to measure its results.

Solution

MDB created a digital version of the Move Programme, which allowed the charity to have one central database containing all information relating to each child’s progress with movement. It allowed the Move program to have the capacity to generate powerful reports which in turn allowed effective measurement of results and comparisons of successes across organisations.

The ability to upload pictures, video and sound has helped the program become more multi-dimensional with carers having the ability to visually demonstrate how much progress the child has made.
